The King's Head

 

The lantern, swinging from his hand, shifted its light. The monk expected to see the glint of a chain-mail coat or the dull buff of a leather coat sewn with iron rings. But there was nothing below the head.

 

Brother Dominic wanders the battlefield, searching for any man left alive. He is overjoyed to hear a voice calling him.

He hurries towards the voice, determined to do all he can to help this fallen man.

Nothing could prepare him for what he finds...
